Investing Tips From the Dalai Lama

From The Contrarian Corner:

Pay Attention
The Dalai Lama often encourages us to, “Pay attention.” What he means is to be aware of the realities that make up ordinary life. The 10 year note is working on its 7th day of nested unchanged value. The 5 year note made a  marginal new high mid-week and has nested back down since. The “big story” over the weekend was the possible new era of low rates, tight spreads and low volatility in the space.
Pay attention. the reality that surrounds us is completely different from that narrative.
I believe the complete quote was "Pay attention or pay the offer, Hook 'em Horns".*

*Hook 'em Horns is the slogan and hand signal of The University of Texas at Austin. Students and alumni of the university employ a greeting consisting of the phrase "Hook 'em" or "Hook 'em Horns" and also use the phrase as a parting good-bye or as the closing line in a letter or story.

The gesture is meant to approximate the shape of the head and horns of the UT mascot, the Texas Longhorn Bevo.... -Wikipedia

Here His Holiness is using the full "I am a Texas Longhorn" symbology rather than just the hand signal.

The University of Texas invested $1 Billion in gold bars back in 2011 at $1,492.90 on the advice of Sid Kyle Bass, NOT the Dalai Lama.
